pardon our humor...

This website was made with a deep love of the craft and an appreciation for the many lessons we have learned from both patients and doctors. It is meant to inspire those trained to focus on the trees to look up sometimes and appreciate the beauty of the forest. This site was the result of another Sarah Lawrence graduate with limited talents inspired by the brilliance of others. Dr. Zubin Damania and Lin Manuel Miranda—Zubin, who has inspired legions of young doctors by making us feel like we were 13 again and the songs seem written just for us and Lin Manuel Miranda who crafted a story of America’s past that looks like America of today.

Life’s but a walking shadow, a poor player, that struts and frets upon the stage, and then is heard no more. It is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

Macbeth

Please grant this idiot a moment of your attention to share a bit of what we have learned from the production called Life.

It has been quite a journey for us as we opened at the brink of a global meltdown in an long vacant graffitied store front in the Mission. The clinic abandoned formulas and was crafted in the spirit of a poorly grossing Richard Linklater classic. The practice is often affectionately called, Dr. Blackledge’s elaborate ruse to lure some of the most brilliant Bay Area minds into the office so they can teach him things. Jon Gruden’s QB Camp who treats every Quarterback like they play for his hometown team, the tough questions of those at the pinnacle of their craft. You see we never intended to look like any other clinic. Instead we embraced the words of Voltaire and Franklin:

The art of medicine consists of amusing the patient while nature cures the disease.

Voltaire

God heals, and the doctor takes the fees.

Benjamin Franklin

Our work is collaborative in nature. We operate under the assumption that we don’t know more about you than you know about yourself. In that spirit we are seeking patients interested in asking questions. We respectfully ask that those who look at doctors like rubber stamps who are only good for writing prescriptions should go elsewhere. Demands, even if presented as all requests, in the absence of questions, is not the type of care we practice. For patients requiring special consideration please make sure to visit our special patient page.
